Presentation of Letters Of Credence

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon presented Letters of Credence to Brunei Darussalam's newly-appointed envoys, and received Letters of Credence from newly-appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam. The ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam first presented Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Awang Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohd Taha, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of India; and His Excellency Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Mohd Ja'afar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Belgium.

His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from Her Excellency Nahida Rahman Shumona, High Commissioner of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam.

And His Excellency Heng Aik Yeow, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam.

After the ceremonies, His Majesty received in audience Brunei Darussalam's newly-appointed envoys.

His Majesty also received in separate audiences the newly-appointed Foreign Envoys to Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty first received in audience the High Commissioner of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Also present, Mr. Jelal Hossain, First Secretary for Labour, High Commission of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty then then received in audience His Excellency Heng Aik Yeow, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore. Accompanying His Excellency were Mr. Raymond Chow, Deputy High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam; and Colonel Yeo Joon Hua Desmond, Defence Adviser of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam.

Also present at the ceremonies were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd. Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd. Taha, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain.
