The Clean Beach Initiative launched by Hengyi Industries Sendirian Berhad aims to assist efforts tackling beach pollution and reduce plastic waste entering the ocean. The initiative was part of the company's commitment and Corporate Social Responsibility to contribute and implement awareness on the importance of recycling and beach cleanliness.
At the campaign, two signage and six recycle bins were installed at the Muara Recreational Beach, and two recycle bins were installed at Serasa Beach. It acts as a reminder to the public to help keep the beach clean and adopt a greener lifestyle. The signage and recycle bins were handed over by Awang Xu Ye, Deputy General Manager of Hengyi Industries to Dayang Martinah binti Haji Tamit, Acting Director of the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRe.
Over 100 Hengyi staff and volunteers cleaned up litter and debris at Muara Recreational Beach. The event was organised in collaboration with Green Brunei. Also joining the clean-up activity was Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Haji Awang Ash'ari, Member of the Legislative Council as the Co-Founder of Green Brunei.
