5 training and skills learning modules are introduced to the participants of the Slaughtering and Butchering Community Course by the Youth Development Center, PPB. Throughout the more than 3 months course, the participants learned various skills such as Identity Shaping; Basics of Animal Handling and Local Livestock Industry; slaughter of animals according to Syari'e laws; Field study from the slaughtering process; and Job placement programme. Certificates were presented to the 8 participants yesterday afternoon at the Youth Development Centre in Tanah Jambu.
Certificates were presented by Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary for Strategy and Policy Management at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Held from the 23rd of November, the course was organised by PPB and supported by the Livestock Industry and Veterinary Services Development Unit, Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism as the regulator of Livestock activities; and the Halal Food Control Body, Syariah Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs as the body that controls the certification of Brunei slaughtering and halal food.
The course was also supported by 5 local companies that provided the teaching staff and learning locations.
