With the rapidly changing and unpredictable educational landscape, schools need to be able to respond and quickly adapt to the situation. According to the Minister of Education, the nature of the market and employment is also changing, while the demand for a highly skilled workforce is also growing especially for emerging technologies. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman during the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd School Leaders Convention, yesterday morning, stressed on the need for different levels of capacity in the education system and human resources to be further developed towards achieving a common set of outcomes. He added that school leaders and teachers need to be prepared to develop a Bruneian generation that is truly ready for the jobs that are yet to be known and for a better future.
The ceremony continued with the launch of the 'Guidebook for Brunei Darussalam School Leadership Standards and Competency Framework'. The framework consists of standards and competencies that help school leaders to achieve national expectations in providing quality education. The convention also serves as a platform for school leaders nationwide to discuss current and future issues of education.
Earlier, Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Hj Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education in her keynote address among other matters shared on the important achievements in this year's convention with the launching of the Brunei Darussalam School Competency Framework. It reflects the Ministry of Education's commitment in supporting the work and professional growth of school leaders. Themed, Quality Leaders, Quality Education, some 280 participants attended the convention organised by the Department of Educator Management and the Schools Department, Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, another 170 participants attended the convention virtually.
