Purify the Heart and Soul by Reciting Istigfar

Islam advocates that Muslims recite the Istigfar which among other things include words or prayers for seeking Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala's forgiveness. There are many benefits and rewards for people who recite Istigfar in daily life. Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam who is protected from sins and wrongdoings recites istigfar one hundred time every day to seek protection from sins and other forms of malice. The matter was highlighted in the Friday sermon titled, "THE BENEFITS OF ISTIGFAR".

Islam teaches its followers several things for cleansing one's heart and soul from all forms of sins and wrongdoings which are reciting zikir and istigfar as well as repenting. In the Islamic concept, the Istigfar means humbling the heart, soul and all thoughts to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and seeking Allah's forgiveness. The command for Muslims to repent and practise Istigfar is not only for sinners and wrongdoers but everyone else too. Muslims are reminded never to give up in seeking Allah's blessings and forgiveness for there are many rewards and blessings for people who recite istigfar. These include Allah's forgiveness, peace or calmness of mind and life, endearing one to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, given Allah's protection from Iblis or the Devil and his followers and blessed with health, sustenance and a happy life.
