His Royal Highness Hi Tea Reception

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman, yesterday afternoon attended a High Tea Reception in conjunction with His Royal Highness' 47th Birthday Celebration. The reception hosted by the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces was held at the Officers' Mess in Bolkiah Garrison.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence, and Major General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, RBAF Commander.

Accompanying His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness 920 Captain Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen Ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.

His Royal Highness was introduced to RBAF officers from Brunei Darussalam's 16th International Monitoring Team, IMT to Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines; RBAF personnel embedded under the Malaysian Battalion 850-7, MALBATT 850-7 for the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon, UNIFIL; the recipient of the RBAF Commendation Award from the 9th RBAF Command and Staff Course 2020; RBAF personnel from the Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team, IDB V-MAT to Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines; and newly commissioned officers who received awards of excellence during the recent Sovereign's Parade Ceremony for the 19th intake of officer cadets, RBAF Officer Cadet School.

His Royal Highness then watched a video clip and was presented with a photobook album titled "Sejambak Ristaan XIV," a collection of photographs from previous years' High Tea Receptions at the RBAF from 2005 until 2020.

This was followed with the signing of a Commemorative Parchment.

His Royal Highness then consented to cut the birthday cake in conjunction with His Royal Highness' birthday.

His Royal Highness also received a 'pasambah' from RBAF Officers and personnel. It was an all-terrain high-powered electric bicycle which is in line with current trend in which the ordinary bicycle is now powered by electricity. The Pasambah reflects the significance of cycling as a rapidly developing sports in the country.

To bless the ceremony, a Doa Kesyukuran was read by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim of the Royal Brunei Navy as Head of the RBAF Religious Department.

His Royal Highness was born on the 17th of February 1974. His Royal Highness gives great attention to the development of the RBAF and the well-being of its personnel besides playing an important role in elevating the image of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
