19 students were awarded the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam scholarship, BIBD ALAF. The award is the continuation of BIBD's commitment, as a partner in progress through holistic and comprehensive educational support programme. The event took place this morning at the Brunei Malay Teachers Association Building in Jalan Kianggeh.
The BIBD ALAF scholarships were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as the Chairman of BIBD. Currently, the BIBD ALAF programme supports 243 students, comprising primary school, secondary school and pre-university students both locally and abroad. The programme aims to produce students who are educated, well-rounded and equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge to be industry-ready.
The event continued with a visit to the Centre for Excellence and Empowerment, CEE and a tour of an exhibition by BIBD ALAF students. Also present was Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, Assistant Mufti as the Chairman of BIBD's Shariah Advisory Body.
