A diet that is both balanced and moderate as well as regular physical activities can contribute to good health and avoid non-communicable diseases, NCDs such as diabetes and obesity. Muslims are also recommended to maintain good health and be grateful for being blessed with it health by Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala. The matter was highlighted during a forum titled "Obesity and Diabetes" at Setia Ali Mosque in Muara Town this morning. Organised in conjunction with the Knowledge Convention 2020, the forum was conducted by Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB under the Knowledge Convention 2020 Side Events Working Committee.
It was attended by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman, Member of the Legislative Council who is also the Village Head of Kampong Masjid Lama Pekan Muara, Sabun and Pelumpong. The panellists were Pengiran Doctor Muhd Khairulhazman bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Medical Officer, NCD Unit at the Ministryof Health and Doctor Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakbar, Dean of Shari'ah Faculty, KUPU SB. The forum aimed to raise public awareness on the importance of maintaining good health, especially in relation to diabetes and obesity. Also in attendance was Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
