Flood Relief Mission in Tutong District

The active weather condition with continuous rainfall in the country has caused several low-lying and rural areas in the Tutong District to remain inundated by floods. The floods have also caused difficulties to the movement of residents especially in obtaining routine supplies. In alleviating the burden of the residents, various parties are assisting government agencies in providing aid to the flood victims. Yesterday morning, the Youth Volunteers with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and in cooperation with the Brunei 4 Wheel Drive Association, joined the Flood Assistance Mission in the Tutong District. The delivery of basic necessities rations to the flood victims focused on the Kampung Kuala Ungar area.

The aid rations of basic necessities were from public and donor contributions through the Flood Victims Mission Drive Thru Donation on the 12th until the 14th of January at the Youth Volunteers Operations Centre, Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas. The Youth Volunteers hope that more people will participate in the mission and the contributions received is expected to alleviate the difficulties faced by the flood victims.
