Arabic is the language of Al-Quran which is the greatest miracle bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam besides being the language of knowledge used by Muslim scholars in various fields. Arabic is recognised all over the world because of its huge role in developing civilistation. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through Unit for the Empowerment of Arabic Through Learning Arabic with the cooperation of the Brunei Darussalam Arabic Association yesterday morning celebrated World Arabic Day 2020 at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The celebration was launched by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. Various activities were organised for the event that among other things expressed love towards using Arabic in daily life besides publicising and socialising Arabic to target groups and the community. 18 December has been designated as World Arabic Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
