Various issues related to the national development agenda and empowerment towards contributing to the country’s social and economic growth proactively, innovatively and dynamically were discussed during ‘The Youth Town Hall Brunei’ programme. It is a platform established this year in conjunction with the National Youth Day Celebration to inculcate a solution driven, forward thinking mindset and collaborative youth community who are passionate about contributing to national development. More than 400 participants took part in the programme which is the second edition held physically and virtually. The programme hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration with ‘Young Professional Networks’ took place yesterday morning at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Themed ‘Leading for National Development in the New Normal’, the programme provides an opportunity for the participants to interact with Yang BerhormatDato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Yang BerhormatDato Seri SetiaAwang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri SetiaDatoPaduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AminuddinIhsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya SaifulMulokDato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The programme also introduced ‘Town Hall’ as a formal engagement mechanism for feedback with youth as partners to development and to engage them about the opportunities and development plans. The Youth Town Hall Brunei session was facilitated by FatinArifin, Co-Founder of Young Professionals Network and Fadli M. Zaini, Core Team from Young Professionals Network.
