Close cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF as well as other government agencies is proven with the involvement and role of the RBAF in providing assistance from the aspects of workforce and logistics to help residents affected by floods inundating a number of flood prone areas in the Tutong and Belait Districts. This includes aid and cooperation given by the RBAF to assist community and welfare works in the country. Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs underscored the matter during the Passing Out Parade for 166th Intake of Male Recruits which took place yesterday morning at Penanjong Garrison in Tutong.
Awang Salminan said that in the context of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the united cooperation fostered between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence as well as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces symbolises the mutual commitment in upholding the aspirations of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam whereby through the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Training Institute, a number of courses have been conducted which were also participated by officers and staff from security agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs among them, the Immigration and National Registration Department, Prisons Department and the Fire and Rescue Department. The joint ventures are appropriate and inline with the Ministry of Home Affairs' mission which is to collaborate with the community including government agencies for the country's peace and security.
210 male recruits of the 166th intake completed their 6 month basic military training. Also present was Major General (Udara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
During the ceremony, trainers and recruits who have shown excellent performance throughout the recruit training received awards.
