Opening of PPB-Aewon Clothing Incubation Centre

The Youth Development Centre, PPB continues to make steps in further enhancing the cooperation ties with strategic partners from other government agencies, industries and non-government agencies, NGO's as a 'Whole of Nation Approach'. With a policy of 1 Programme 1 Strategic Partner, PPB can provide skills training, development and entrepreneurial programmes, incubation programmes as well as market access to commercialise products and services of the graduated trainees. Yesterday morning, a ceremony to launch the PPB-Aewon Clothing Incubation Centre, PPB-Mulia and Astetika Corporation Hospitality Room; Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Strategic Partners; Community Programme Certificate Presentation and the Official Opening of the YDC De'Cafe & Restaurant Programme at PPB.

The opening of the centre was officiated by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Known as Astetika Corporation, it was established by 10 PPB-Aewon Clothing Incubation Centre trainees.

The function also witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding between PPB and three strategic partners namely Aewon Garment and Embroidery Company; Royal Brunei Catering Sendirian Berhad, RBC; and Mulia Hotel. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was witnessed by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The initiative of the memorandum of understanding is directed towards Capacity Building.

47 participants of the PPB Community programme also received certificates. The programme is a short skills programme opened to the general public and conducted by PPB teaching workforce. Also held was the launch of the PPB-Mulia Hospitality Room which was an initiative and early preparation of the Brunei Association of Hotels with the cooperation of Mulia Hotel to carry out courses related to hotel rooms housekeeping management at PPB.

Also held was the launch of the YDC De'Cafe & Restaurant Programme by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The programme is one of the platforms provided and opened to PPB trainees and graduates wishing to promote their food and services.
