More than one hundred astronomy enthusiast in the country gathered on the 26th September night, in conjunction with the International Observe the Moon Night. The activity which was organized by the Brunei Darussalam Astronomy Association was held at Warisan Puk Balaban, Kampung Bukit Udal, Tutong.
It was launched by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Vice President of the Brunei Darussalam Astronomy Association. Such events are also held via physical and online by various organizations around the world. The moon observation event is held every September or October where it is the best phase to observe the landscape and shapes on the moon surface. Doctor Roslynna binti Haji Rosli as the events Program Coordinator in during an interview by RTB said the activity among others, acts as a platform for amateur astronomers, educators and moon fans to interact and share knowledge and experience.
Several telescopes and binoculars were provided by members of the Brunei Darussalam Astronomy Association for participants to observe the moon, planets, and other celestial objects throughout the night. Participants also had the opportunity to see mountainous landscapes and crater cracks along the line between light and dark areas on the moon.
