Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports touched on updating sports guidelines as well as the development on de-escalation guidelines for swimming pool starting this Monday, 28 September 2020.
Yang Berhormat stated that organiser will be allowed to arrange competition for 6 individual sports only, namely Badminton, Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, Sepak Takraw and Golf.
The organiser is required to adhere to guidelines as follows:
– Limited to single match or doubles match for pairs only. Organiser must prepare detailed games schedules to avoid mass gathering at one time. Participants are to leave the venue immediately after tournament ended or prize presentation ceremony.
– Secondly, as per the guidelines for organised sports, organiser is to obtain permission from the relevant authorities first. The organiser is also required to submit plans for COVID-19 control measures inline with Ministry of Health Guidelines.
– Thirdly, no spectators are allowed. Organiser to ensure that attendance is limited to participants, coach, manager and organising committee only.
– Fourthly, organiser and participants are to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines especially in maintaining social responsibility, physical distancing and to use BruHealth QR Code as well as to ensure self-hygiene at all times.
Swimming Pool activity to be escalated from Level 3 to Level 4. At Level 4, usage capacity is increased from 80 to 100 per cent at one time, subject to the pool capacity. Other guidelines are similar to the current ones.
