An attempt to smuggle contraband in a bush area near the Kampung Lumapas industrial area was foiled during the Operasi Sepadu of the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The contraband were seized and will be handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Azhan Bin Anuar, Assistant Commanding Officer of Company ‘C’ Police Reserve, 430 boxes of cigarettes and 36 bottles of alcoholic drinks were found abandoned in the bush area. All contraband was brought to the Kampong Ayer Police Station for investigation by the Royal Customs and Excise Department. The Royal Brunei Police Force will always be committed in efforts to combat and monitor criminal activities in border areas in Brunei Darussalam.
