Immigration Case

Two Indonesian men were sentenced to imprisonment for overstaying in the country, offences under the Immigration Act.

 

Hasbullah was found guilty after his immigration pass expired for 187 days, and was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane. Meanwhile, Husanudin was found guilty for overstaying in the country after his immigration pass expired for one thousand and 6 days, and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane. Both defendants were arrested during ‘Operasi Bersepadu Pumpung’ conducted by the Department of Immigration and National Registration on the 23rd of June 2020 in Kampung Junjongan.
