Three Main Pillars Tackle Security Challenges

Over 6 hundred and 6 million 27 thousand 2 hundred and 20 dollars was allocated for the Ministry of Defence for the Financial Year 2020/2021 budget, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Defence explained that the ministry will continue to give attention to the 3 main pillars in in tackling frequently occurring security challenges. The three main pillars are deterrence and response, defence diplomacy and holistic defence.

Yang Berhormat said that in ensuring that the main pillar of deterrence and response functions well in terms of capacity and ability, the Ministry of Defence continues to give particular attention to defence capabilities, armaments as well as required trainings. The second pillar, which is defence diplomacy in terms of bilateral and multilateral will enable the country's role and influence to be expanded to the international level. This pillar is achieved in actively implementing strong and friendly defence relations with friendly nations towards instilling understanding, confidence and transparency with one another. The third pillar which is holistic defence involves implementation of national level strategy and policy through the whole of nation approach. Among the Ministry of Defence's involvement with other government agencies is through the national security committee and the working committees under it.
