Yesterday morning session, several questions that have been given notice received responses from the Ex-Officio Member. Among them was on reviewing the existing Public Service Scheme according to the changes of time. According to the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, the initiative has a specific direction based on the type of job and service offered according to the qualification level possessed by job seekers. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud explained the matter in response to a query on the Public Service Scheme raised by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Awang Haji Sabtu.
Yang Berhormat the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office said the initiatives include:
- Updating the Service Scheme to provide career growth opportunity for open vote staff to be absorbed into permanent related schemes.
- Implementing coordination and adjustment of job title for posts at Division 4 and 5 which have similar roles and responsibilities but with different salary scale such as the position of a driver.
- Updating terms of qualification in the service scheme for posts in Division 1
- Creating a service scheme that takes into account qualification or salary scale that is equivalent with the appropriate position in ensuring the approved service scheme is sustainable and can be utilised in the long term.
Yang Berhormat added that every ministry and department is responsible to provide model competency for positions at their respective ministry and department to ensure that the direction of the Service Scheme establishment is achieved.
