Taking into account of the country's current economic situation that is facing various challenges, such as Gross Domestic Product, GDP growth that is not yet stable, and the export from non-oil and gas sector that is still low, the Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint for a 15 year period from 2020 to 2035 will be published. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy outlined the matter while deliberating the budget proposal for the Financial Year 2020/2021.
Yang Berhormat said the blueprint is a roadmap for the country's economic planning that will complete the efforts to achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035, specifically in the third goal namely a dynamic and sustainable economy. The Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint preparation will be carried out comprehensively by taking into account other existing initiatives and planning including from the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam Financial Blue Print, ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025, Ministry Strategic Plans and others.
