Government Committed in Driving National Development

While proposing the Fifth item of proposals that have been given notice, The Special Advisor to His Majesty and Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, proposed for a motion that the council has approved for a motion of vote of thanks for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan's presence and titah in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the First meeting of the 16th Legislative Council Session, 9th March. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Di-Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim, in his motion of vote of thanks, proposed for the deliberations and queries raised in the meeting session to focus on issues that are strategic and relevant towards national development and should be related to the Supply Bill deliberated as well as planning policies and initiatives carried out by the government so that it is better organised and directed. Yang Berhormat Pehin said, the country's citizens and residents should be grateful and feel very fortunate for being awarded various types of aid and subsidies as well as enjoy various facilities and services that are funded.

Yang Berhormat Pehin said that in driving national development, the government of His Majesty will continue to be committed in providing allocations to fund development projects and initiatives, taking into account that the country's source of income is still limited. Every government agency is obligated to uphold His Majesty's titah to always be cautious in planning and managing expenditures. Every project and initiative carried out must be monitored, administered and managed efficiently and transparently as well as trustworthily so that it can achieve the set output or outcome targeted. Other agencies are also urged to work together in monitoring projects carried out inline with their respective responsibilities. Through the practice of prudence and efforts to diversify the economy, the country will strengthen the stability of its financial position and the country's economy will continue to develop confidently. It is hoped that with the blessings of Allah SWT and wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the country will continue to enjoy prosperity and be a sovereign nation that is always blessed by Allah SWT.

The motion proposed by the Special Advisor to His Majesty and Minister at the Prime Minister's Office was supported by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.
