In preparing the country's intending haj pilgrims prior to their departure to the holy city to perform the fifth pillar of Islam, the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Haj Management Department is currently conducting Haj courses for this year's haj season.
The RTB crew took a closer look at one of the centres conducting the course which is Lambak Kanan Jalan 1 Religious School, and found that the intending haj pilgrims are diligently studying the haj knowledge in-depth especially the pillars of haj. The intensive course began since the 14th of February and will end on the 12th of April nationwide.
In the Brunei Muara District the course is taking place at four separate venues namely Lambak Kanan Jalan 1 Religious School, Pengiran Anak Puteri Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampung Mulaut, Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah religious School in Berakas and Sungai Besar Religious School in Kampung Sungai Besar. In the Belait District, Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Primary School in Kuala Belait and Pengiran Anak Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Religious School in Seria are the course focus. In the Tutong District, Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School and in the Temburong District, the course is held at the Arabic Preparatory School. One of the teaching workforce explained that the knowledge imparted during the course need to be taken seriously and understood in depth as the knowledge obtained will be used by the intending pilgrims while in the holy city.
One of the intending haj pilgrims in an interview said that the experience that willl be gained has given a boost towards focusing more on the knowledge related to haj. Accordingly, even the current worrying COVID-19 global situation has not made anyone disheartened to perform the 5th pillar of Islam.
