The government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is committed in ensuring the well-being and welfare of the underprivileged in the country. This was proven with the house keys presentation to six recipients in Kampung Bukit Udal, Tutong yesterday morning.
The house completion certificate were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as President of Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Engineer Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The construction of the houses were from the allocation of Poor and Destitute Asnaf Tithe Money Collection, MUIB amounting $401,804.38. The 6 houses are part of the 27 Aid houses are currently being built by Syarikat Noracon Sendirian Berhad. The construction of the 27 Aid houses cost $1,977,283.60. The construction project is expected to be completed by next month. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Members of the Legislative Council.
The assistance will provide comfortable and secure homes for the poor and destitute to live in and perform religious acts.
