Official Opening of Muslim Youth Leadership Convention, KKBI 2020

Muslim Youth Leadership Convention, KKBI 2020 will be a useful intellectual platform for the participants to voice ideas or proposals especially those related to Muslim youths. It is a way towards positive contribution to religion, the race and nation. It is a recognition and channel for the country's youths in interacting among themselves and seeking solutions and good resolutions to topics discussed during the convention. Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs made the remarks at the official opening of KKBI 2020 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday morning.

According to Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom the youths should play their role actively because they have more advantages in aspects such as energy, ideas, creativity and strong spirit to accomplish Wawasan Negara 2035. The Deputy Minister added that youths should be taught and guided by giving them moral and material support, motivation and improving their skills and self-confidence. At the same time, the role of those rich with experience is mush needed to ensure the result is truly Bruneian in identity.

The KKBI Convention was organised in conjunction with the country's 36th National Day. With the theme, "Belia Holistik Harapan Negara", or "Holistic Youth, the Nation's Hope", the convention also aims to open opportunities for youths to build skills, increase knowledge and develop leadership characteristics that are in line with the Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB and Wawasan Brunei 2035. The 2-day convention gathers youths especially youth groups under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, youth groups in the country, Institutions of Higher Learning and representatives of MABIMS. This year the KKBI is conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Youth Religious Programme. Also in attendance was Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary (for Policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
