The pledge of undivided loyalty towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is not just a saying but as the country's citizens and residents, the pledge need to be translated into actions for the security and peace as well as prosperity of Brunei Darussalam. Members of this Sunday's National Day celebration pledge team expressed their pride as their selection as members of the pledge team this year is a dream come true.
For one of the pledge team members who is differently-abled, being sight-impaired does not prevent him from presenting his patriotic spirit and will give his best pledge presentation with his other team members.
During this Sunday's ceremony, the safety and well-being of the performance participants, guests as well as the public are given serious attention. The tents set up for the Fire and Rescue Department as well as the Paramedic team from the Ministry of Health are always ready and prepared to receive anyone requiring their services during the celebration. The Ministry of Health advises visitors and performance participants who are not feeling well NOT to attend the Grand Assembly to avoid any difficulties for themselves and the public.
With a high patriotic spirit, the choir is prepared in providing a great performance during the ceremony. 73 students from Berakas Secondary School are actively rehearsing so that their performance runs smoothly. The choir will perform 22 patriotic songs among them Ikrar kemerdekaan, Belia Berwawasan, Belia Pemangkin Wawasan and Bangsaku Cemerlang.
