Efforts to disseminate information to the community especially at the grass roots level in order to understand and support government efforts in together developing the country in particular towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035 continue to be carried out by the Information Department through the Informative Society Programme. Yesterday morning, 40 residents from Kampung Pandan B in the Belait District took part in the programme held at the Kampung Pandan Community Hall in Kuala Belait.
Present was Yang Berhormat Awang Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, member of the Legislative Council as the Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi. The programme aimed to increase knowledge and disseminate the government efforts and developments in enhancing the people's standard of living through briefings and visits.
The programme's participants also attended a briefing at the Dewan Auditorium, Information Department. The briefing entitled 'Kefahaman Ajaran Sesat dan Cara Menghindarinya' or Understanding of Deviant teachings and Ways of Preventing it, was delivered by Awang Abdul Kadir bin Abdul Rahman and Dayangku Norleilawati binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Salleh, officers from the Religious Enforcement Section, Ministry of Religious Affairs. The briefing among other matters shared about the characteristics of deviant teachings namely defiling the purity of Al-Quran and hadith and changing the basic principles in the Islamic faith.
