Three Malaysian women were sentenced to imprisonment and fines after being found guilty of re-entering the country illegally.

30 year old Suriati Binti Morsidi, holding passport number K00365324 was sentenced on two counts namely entering the country illegally and re-entering the country after being deported. For the first offence, she was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and fined 800 dollars while for the second offence, she was sentenced to one year imprisonment.

Meanwhile Arshiela Binti Abdullah, aged 19, was charged under the Immigration Act Chapter 17, which is entering the country illegally. She was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment and an 800 dollar fine.

And 22 year old Angeline Uchi, also received the same sentence which was three months imprisonment and an 800 dollar fine for entering the country illegally. The three defendants were arrested during the Ops Pumpung on the 15th of January, conducted by the Department of Immigration and National Registration on a house in Kampung Pengkalan Batu.
