Temporary Shelter for House Fire Victims

The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has taken proactive actions for the victims of house fire in Kampung Bendahara Lama by providing them with temporary shelter. The incident which took place recently gutted 12 houses and damaged 4 more residences, leaving over one hundred people homeless.

The Department of Community Development, JAPEM has provided temporary shelter for a number of victims at the Temporary Shelter Centre in Sungai Akar. The facility is equipped with a number of facilities including living room, kitchen and bedroom. Other victims chose to stay with their relatives.

During interview, several people expressed their gratitude to the government agencies that are involved in lessening their plight.
