A restaurant's service quality should meet the customer's demands. Therefore, to explore basic customer services in the context of a competitive hospitality industry environment, 55 restaurant staff took part in the Excellent Service in Hospitality or Food Service Industry Training. The training ended yesterday morning with the Certificate Presentation Ceremony at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
Certificates were presented by Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. Also present were Doctor Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Director of SEAMEO Voctech; Awang Muhd Kamarul Izzudin bin Haji Kamaluddin, Head of School of Hospitality and Tourism, Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE; and Awang Mohd Iswandi bin Maaruf, President of the Brunei Association of Hotels. The practical training was specifically for staff at selected restaurants that are focal point for tourists in the country.
The training was part of preparations before the country hosts the ASEAN Tourism Forum, ATF that will take place from the 12 to the 16th of this month at The Empire Hotel and Country Club and BRIDEX Hall. The training was conducted by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department, with the cooperation of SEAMEO Voctech, IBTE and the Brunei Association of Hotels.
