The 'Satu Keluarga, Satu Bunga' or One Family, One Flower cleaning campaign in support of the International Volunteer Day 2019 celebration, is able to instil a spirit of solidarity and volunteerism in the community. Such a campaign to clean the Kampung Sengkarai Community Hall was held yesterday morning by the Kampung Sengkarai Consultative Council in Tutong.
The campaign was launched by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Umarali bin Esong, member of the Legislative Council. Also participating in the campaign was Awang Haji Haizul Rizal bin Haji Yahya, Acting Assistant Tutong District Officer. The campaign also involved government agencies including the Royal Brunei Police Force through the Tutong Police Station, Tutong District Volunteers and the Tutong Senior Citizens Activity Centre. The campaign among other matters aimed to enhance unity among the village community. The activity included the planting of decorative flowering plants at the community hall compound.
According to Awang Abdul Aziz Bin Haji Hamdan, Acting Head of Kampung Sengkarai, the main aim of the campaign is to repair and maintain the Community Hall building of which the first phase is focused on cleaning the community hall area. He hoped that the community hall will continue to be used and become a community centre for the village.
