Brunei Darussalam has expressed appreciation and happiness as well as thanks and congratulations to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their excellent management and organisation as well as hospitality given to the country's haj pilgrims throughout the past haj season. The appreciation was voiced by the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs during the Annual Haj Management Meeting for 1441 Hijrah between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Haj and Umrah, government of Saudi Arabia at the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar led the delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs on behalf of the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the meeting.
Pengiran Dato then welcomed the high commitment of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in holding continuous discussions on the haj management affairs with the Ministry of Religious Affairs solely for the safety, welfare and comfort of the Brunei Darussalam haj pilgrims every haj season. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah, government of Saudi Arabia at the meeting was led by Doctor Abdul Fattah bin Sulaiman Mashat, Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah. In his speech, he expressed his happiness and appreciation to officers of the Brunei Darussalam Haj Management Office, Administration and Medical, for their efforts in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
He also praised the management of both offices for being able to maintain excellent haj management and administration so that the Brunei Darussalam haj pilgrims can carry out the haj properly. He added that the Brunei Darussalam haj pilgrims are disciplined and always adheres to the regulations stipulated by the government of Saudi Arabia and are focused fully on the implementation of the haj manasik. They are also able to maintain the same performance in the past haj season. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah, government of Saudi Arabia and relevant agencies are always ready to assist all haj pilgrims including those from Brunei Darussalam.
After the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia signed an agreement reached during the meeting. Among those present were His Excellency Dato Seri Setia Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Saudi Arabia; Pengiran Mohammad Salimin bin Pengiran Haji Md Daud, Acting General Consul of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah; Awang Haji Abd Rahman bin Mat Zin, Acting Director of Haj Management and Awang Haji Abd Nasir bin Haji Bolhasan, representative of Royal Brunei Airlines.
