Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman this afternoon competed in the Brunei Darussalam Archery Association, BDAA Trophy 2019 qualifying for the 'Individual Recurve Female' and the 'Team Recurve Mix' categories. In the 'Individual Recurve Female', Her Royal Highness scored 482 out of 600, and will proceed to the semi-final. The 3-day tournament takes place at Jerudong Sports Complex.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Pahlawan Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Jaafar bin Haji Abdul Aziz, President of the Brunei Darussalam Archery Association and Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present were the children of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman as well as other members of the Royal Family.
Earlier during the launching of the BDAA's website, the association's president in his speech expressed hope that with the website, it can facilitate announcements on the association, post the latest information, and keep archive materials for reference.
The event continued with the 'Ranking' Medal presentation for the BDAA. The archery tournament is divided into 11 categories including the Individual Traditional Male; Individual Traditional Female; Individual Traditional Dynamic; Individual Recurve Male and Individual Recurve Female. The competition aims to further enhance archery in the country, and at the same time, search for young talent in archery.
