The newly set up Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Services in Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre will serve as a cancer screening and assessment clinic for patients with early symptoms or those who do not have any symptoms but have risk factors for cancer disease. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy made a remarks at the official opening of the Early Detection and Cancer Prevention (EDCP) Services, yesterday afternoon.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC added the services aims to coordinate individual care and referral for early detection and its prevention. Apart from that, Yang Berhormat said, it is also aims to provide lifestyle counselling, as well as educational resources to help reduce risk and prevent cancer. At the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the collaborative partners of EDCP Services.
The services was officiated by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC. EDCP offers consultative and cancer screening clinic, focusing on health education and cancer risks assessment. The exhibition booths on cancer prevention were also held including Department of Radiology Services from the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit, Health Promotion Centre, and Jerudong Park Medical Centre. The exhibition also showcased the winning projects of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Initiative Competition.
