Puni Primary School’s Sapphire Jubilee Celebration

This year marks the 69th anniversary of the establishment of Puni Primary School in Temburong. To commemorate the celebration, a Sapphire Jubilee celebration was held at the school.

The function which was officiated by Awang Abdul Ghani bin Haji Othman, Acting Temburong District Officer, began with the murattal reading and choir performance. The ceremony was also filled with several activities such as sales booth, games and exhibition which was participated by the Royal Brunei Police Force, Narcotic Control Bureau, Prisons Department, Health as well as the Fire and Rescue Department of G Operational Branch.

The Puni Primary School which is located at the land area of 1.281 hectare was built in 1950. However in 1956, the school has been restored and officiated by Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam II. Currently, the school has 95 students and 13 teachers and has achieved progress in academic in the past few years.
