To raise the public's awareness on the Brunei Muara District Senior Citizens Activity Centre, PKWE BM, especially among senior citizens and towards increasing registered membership at the centre, yesterday MORNING the Community Service Group 3 from the 28th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers, EDPMMO, held a PKWE BM Open Day through the 'Indung Ku Sayang' or My Beloved Parent programme.
The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The Indung Ku Sayang Programme aimed to further strengthen the existing PKWE BM activities by involving non-government organisations in contributing towards senior citizens either financially, manpower, knowledge and skills. The programme was co-organised by EDPMMO, PKWE BM and Community Development Department, JAPEM, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
An exhibition by Non-Government Organisations, NGOs and volunteers including a health screening exhibition was also held. The Brunei Muara Senior Citizen Activity Centre which is currently has reached its 300 members, has produced various man-made products to be sold, where part of the selling products will be donated to the centre's fund.
Also present were Dayang Saidah binti Haji Wahid @ Burut, Acting Permanent Secretary for Policy and Strategy Management at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA.
