The opening of the exhibition area and sewing workshop provides an opportunity for supervised peers to continue to be active in micro and medium enterprises. The matter was stated by the Acting Director of Prisons, during the workshop's opening yesterday afternoon at the Beribi Light Industry in Gadong.
According to Awang Hishamuddin bin Abdullah Juna, 10 supervised peers involved in the project are producing various products namely wood and metal craft, souvenir embroidery and food items.
The workshop was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs. The workshop and sales exhibition is also aimed to market and showcase the supervised peers handicraft skills and products as well as to open up the minds of the community on reintegration into society. The exhibition area is open to the public every Monday to Saturday from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
