135 New Cases, 3 New Clusters Detected, 191 Recovered

There are 42 additional new cases to 13 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. Meanwhile, three new clusters have been detected bringing the total number of active clusters to 156. Two of the new clusters namely Adinin Works & Engineering Sdn Cluster and Tendrill International Sdn Bhd Cluster are housing clusters where the companies' employees are residing. Meanwhile one cluster is a result of a mass swabbing operation conducted in the Sengkurong area on the 8th of October 2021. 43 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

191 cases have recovered bringing the total number of recovered cases in Brunei Darussalam to 6,368, whereas the total number of active cases are 2,168 cases. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, seven cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with three cases requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. Meanwhile, 32 cases in Category 4 require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, a total of 4,191 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 398,274.
