128 New Cases, 7 New Clusters, 178 Recovered

128 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 13,673.

There are 24 additional new cases to 9 of the existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. Meanwhile, seven new clusters were detected that involved 75 cases. All the new clusters are accommodation clusters, in which four of the clusters, Ishiwood Sdn Bhd Cluster, FFY Construction site dormitory Cluster, SCCB staff house Cluster and C.J Soon Construction staff house Cluster are housing clusters where the companies' employees are residing. Three clusters were closed following no new detected cases in the clusters for 28 days. The closed clusters are 7371, 7452 and 7815 Clusters. Therefore, the current total active clusters stand at 183. Twenty Nine new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of infection.

Meanwhile, 178 cases have recovered today, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 12,276 cases, with 1,303 cases remaining active. Among the cases, SIX are in Category 5 and are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with one case requires additional heart/lung machine, or ECMO. Eight cases in Category 4 require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 4,122 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of lab tests carried out since January 2020 to 525,949.
