104 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Brunei Darussalam bringing the total COVID-19 cases to 1,873.
There are additional cases to currently active clusters: 5 cases for The Mall Cluster; 3 cases for the Immigration Cluster; 3 for the Al-Falah/Freda-Radin Cluster; 2 for the Semporna Enak Cluster; 2 for the Chung Hua KB Cluster; 2 for the Champion 7 – Platform Cluster; 2 for the Dragon Boat Cluster; 2 for the Samima Cluster; 2 for Jaya Hypermart Cluster; and 1 case for the BSP HQ (Block M) Cluster.
Meanwhile, 1 new cluster have been identified: 10 new cases today are related to Case 418 that was reported on the 19th of August 2021. This cluster is now known as the 418 Cluster. Meanwhile, there are 70 cases where the source of infection is still being determined. The cases in the active clusters are individuals who are currently being quarantined and were found to be in contact with several confirmed cases.
Contact tracing for all these new cases is currently undergoing. All identified close contacts are required to undergo mandatory quarantine and RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 test.
Meanwhile, seventeen cases have recovered today bringing the total of recovered cases to 436 cases. This means, a total of 1,432 active cases have recorded in Brunei Darussalam. Among the active cases, four cases are in critical condition, where three cases require ventilators and one case requires the help of an additional heart/lung machine (ECMO).
Meanwhile, twenty-seven cases have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, a total of 3,866 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 204,923 tests.
