$100 Fine for Going Out Of House without BruHealth

The Ministry of Health has mandated the use of wristbands for those who are identified as COVID-19 positive. The Minister of Health also reminded that any individual who wishes to leave their house is required to have the BruHealth app.

 

Yang Berhormat said the BruHealth app is required on mobile phone or individuals share the BruHealth app with other known individuals such as their caregivers, employers, managers or friends. Failing to comply with this directive will be subject to a compound fine of $100. At the same time, the public is reminded that failure to wear a face mask in public places will also result in a compound fine of $100.

 

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has also mandated the wearing of wristbands to those who have been identified positive for COVID-19 and also for contacts who have been instructed to undergo quarantine orders. The wristbands are required to be worn until they have completed the quarantine period. Hence, anyone who is found to cut, loosen or unfasten the wristbands before the end of the usage date will incur a compound fine of 5 thousand dollars as stipulated under the Infectious Diseases Act, Chapter 204.
